Mr. Hayne joined STMM in 2006 as an Investment Advisor after spending six years with AT&T's mergers & acquisitions group here in San Antonio. Mr. Hayne brings to STMM an intimate knowledge of the inner workings of both the public and private securities markets.

Mr. Hayne began his tenure in the mergers and acquisitions group as an analyst and eventually gained responsibility for running the day-to-day operations for transactional deal teams, which included various duties from strategic assessment, valuation analysis and due diligence, to documentation, negotiation and closing of transactions. While the bulk of his work covered more typical mergers and acquisitions transactions of small to large companies, Walter also co-managed AT&T’s venture capital portfolio.

Prior to AT&T, Mr. Hayne worked for Frost National Bank in commercial lending and Private Client Services in the company’s San Antonio office. Walter holds an MBA from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University and a BA in History from Williams College.

Over the years, Mr. Hayne has been involved with various community organizations, including the Family Service Association and as a mentor for a San Antonio ISD elementary school.

With a keen interest in the history of Texas and the conservation of its natural resources, Mr. Hayne, a San Antonio native, enjoys time outdoors with his wife and four children.
