Job Description:

The Non-Profit Business Development Officer is responsible for the development, implementation and oversight of a strategic plan to identify and grow assets for STMM in the non-profit arena – in both Texas and the Southwestern United States, as well as on a national level. This position will work as part of STMM’s sales team -providing oversight and management of the sales process related to non-profit prospects, and overseeing all strategic business development initiatives in that arena. The incumbent is expected to cultivate STMM’s reputation for expertise in the non-profit arena on a national level by participating in appropriate non-profit conferences and seeking opportunities for speaking engagements and panel participation.

Responsibilities:

  • Continually build new client pipeline by identifying and properly qualifying non-profit new business opportunities
  • Cultivate referrals utilizing strategic relationships and contacts, both existing and potential, and pursue contact with leads, convert leads to prospects, and prospects to clients
  • Develop and actively cultivate professional network of referral sources with accountants, attorneys, and COIs pertinent to the non-profit network
  • Track and measure progress of the growth of non-profit AUMs and close rates
  • Listen to, and evaluate, non-profit client feedback
  • Work with STMM’s management and marketing teams to enhance STMM’s non-profit marketing materials as well as the design of the firm’s comprehensive non-profit offering
  • Attend and promote company sponsored events and community activities intended to raise the profile of the company outside of regular business hours
  • Network and maintain business relationships
  • Keep abreast of investment related news and trends
  • Record all prospect activity in contact record management system (CRM) and provide weekly, monthly and quarterly activity reports to Manager
  • Develop and follow up on all prospects – regionally and nationally

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Education and Work Experience

  • 5-10 years working with/developing non-profit and institutional clients or acting in a non-profit development capacity
  • Highly regarded as an expert in the non-profit space; regional/national reputation as a thought leader a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree; additional professional designations/certifications desirable
  • Series 65 required; must obtain within three months of employment
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong CRM knowledge and experience
