Michelle Romero serves as a Managing Director. Ms. Romero joined South Texas Money Management in November 2000 at the firm's inception. During her tenure she has served as Chief Operating Officer, Director of Equity Research, Portfolio Manager, Chief Equity Trader and Equity Analyst. Ms. Romero is currently on the Executive Management Team, is a senior member of our Investment Team, oversees our Wealth Management Team, and manages our equity trading and portfolio management departments.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Romero was an Assistant Vice President at Frost National Bank and an Assistant Portfolio Manager. Her responsibilities included equity research and analysis, quantitative analysis, and she was a member of the bank's Financial Management Performance Group that oversaw the Core Portfolio.
Ms. Romero received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas. She graduated Cum Laude with a double major in Finance and Financial Services/Risk Management. In recognition of her high scholastic achievement, Ms. Romero was designated as a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the honor society of collegiate schools of business. Ms. Romero currently serves on Fidelity's Institutional Wealth Services Steering Committee, a national committee developed to serve the needs of registered investment advisors throughout the country.She is also a member of Texas Wallstreet Women.
