Mary Hime

Senior Vice President & Relationship Manager

Mary M. Hime joined South Texas Money Management in June 2008. She serves as Senior Vice President and Relationship Manager. Mary works with our clients in the Gulf Coast Region from our Corpus Christi office and she manages our Non-Profit Practice companywide. She brings broad finance, government relations and management experience to the firm.

Prior to joining STMM, Ms. Hime worked in the government relations department of USAA, a financial services company that serves the military. Prior to that, she worked in Israel as a consultant to the Board of Directors of Electronic Lines. Her efforts were concentrated on investor relations, strategic planning and process improvements.

From 1985 to 2003, Ms. Hime worked for Valero and its predecessor companies in a number of capacities including Vice President of Specialty Products, Director of Investor Relations, and Director of Government Relations. Ms. Hime’s earlier work experience included local, state, and federal government and political campaign positions.

She is a happily married mother of three adult children. Ms. Hime has served on the boards of several charitable and civic organizations including the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and The Winston School of San Antonio. She currently serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Rockport Center for the Arts as well as on the Advisory Board for Odyssey After School Enrichment Program, a Trustee for the Art Museum of South Texas and a member of the Texas Women of the Arts. Ms. Hime also participated in a number of leadership programs including Leadership Texas (2014), the premier women’s leadership program and the longest running and most successful of its kind in the U.S.; Leadership San Antonio (1989); Leadership Aransas County (2015); and Leadership America (1991).

Ms. Hime earned a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin with a concentration in finance and a Masters in Public Affairs from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at UT Austin. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and economics from Claremont McKenna College.
