Senior Vice President & Relationship Manager
David Stix joined South Texas in 2014 as a Senior Investment Advisor and manager of the Houston office. He brings over 30 years of investment experience to the firm.
Mr. Stix began his investment career at Salomon Brothers, where he was a Vice President in the equity department working with institutional clients in both New York and Tokyo. He moved to Madrid, Spain in 1992 where he later co-founded and was the CEO of Iberian Equities, a local brokerage firm that was recognized for its high quality equity research for institutional investors.
During his career Mr. Stix has held a variety of positions in the brokerage industry, including senior salesman, manager of equity trading and research analyst covering sectors including real estate, airlines and motorways. Fluent in Spanish, he is married and has three children.
He graduated with a B.A. in Economics from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine; during his senior year he was admitted to Phi Beta Kappa. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) since 1998, he has been an exam grader on seven occasions and been invited to help construct exam questions.
