Christina Markell-Balleza joined South Texas Money Management as Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel in September 2011. She brings extensive investment advisor regulatory and compliance experience to the firm.
Prior to joining STMM, Ms. Markell-Balleza worked in the business planning and investment funds practices of Haynes and Boone, LLP in Dallas where she advised investment advisers and private investment funds on a variety of matters.
She and her husband are enjoying raising their young daughter. Ms. Markell-Balleza has served on a number of community and non-profit boards and is currently a Texas Angel with Texas Wall Street Women.
Ms. Markell-Balleza received a Juris Doctorate with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from St. Mary's University.
