Chief Investment Officer

Christian Ledoux, CFA joined South Texas Money Management in 2013 and brings over 20 years of equity research and portfolio management experience to the firm. In March 2019, he was named Chief Investment Officer. Prior to that, he was was Executive Vice President, Senior Portfolio Manager and Director of Equity Research. In this role, he is a leader of the equity investment team. He is also a member of the Investment Committee that oversees STMM’s open architecture investment consulting offering.

Mr. Ledoux seeks to provide leadership, performance, and transparency to the STMM team and its clients. He directs the weekly investment meetings where the team monitors and makes changes to client portfolios. He also directs the firm’s equity research effort, leading a team of analysts and serving as an analyst himself. In lockstep with the STMM goal of transparency, he visits with the firm’s relationship managers and clients to explain the investment process and portfolio holdings. He has been quoted in national print media and has authored commentary on Energy topics and broader market trends.

Mr. Ledoux’s background ranges from researching and managing private equities to large-cap multinationals. Prior to joining the firm, he was a Principal at Hoover Investment Management, LLC, an institutional asset manager in San Francisco, CA which earned a 5-star ranking from Morningstar in the domestic small cap fund category in the early 2000’s. Prior to his tenure at Hoover, he was an analyst for the Jurika & Voyles Mini-cap fund in Oakland, CA, which was also awarded a 5-star ranking by Morningstar during the late 1990’s.

Mr. Ledoux earned a BA in Business Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He has been a CFA charterholder since 1999.
