Job Title:  Equity  Analyst

Job Location: San Antonio, Texas

Job Description:

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Research and analyze financial statements, industry data and company fundamentals and communicate findings to the Director of Equity Research and Investment Committee
  • Prepare written research reports and present company/industry research and investment recommendations
  • Monitor news flow related to existing holdings and report pertinent information
  • Provide analysis and support for a variety of investment related requests
  • Responsibility for covering one or two sectors with the opportunity to change sector coverage over time.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • CFA and/or MBA, preferred (or track)
  • Between 2 and 5 years work experience preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability in Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel

Job Title:  Client Operations & Transitions Associate

Job Location: San Antonio, Texas

Job Description:

The Client Operations& Transitions Associate will serve as member of STMM’s back office andtransitions teams. This position is responsible for daily reconciliation ofaccounts, new accounts and other transition-type events taking place in clientaccounts. This position reports to the Director of Transitions & Operations.

The general duties of this job may consist of:

Client Operations:

  • Reconcile account holdings, transactions, cost basis and market value to custodian bank records for equity and fixed income accounts; research and resolve any differences
  • Create client records and maintain client account data in the accounting system(s)
  • Ensure account transition events (openings, closings and transfers) are processed correctly and timely in the accountings system
  • Identify and resolve security master file and pricing discrepancies between STMM and custodians
  • Ensure the timely processing of corporate action events
  • Provide operational support and knowledge to internal groups including: Trading, Portfolio Administration, Performance, and Client Services
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned by the Director of Transitions & Operations and/or Chief Operating Officer

Client Transitions:

  • Work with team on all tasks related to new accounts:  
    • Ensure timely and consistent delivery of new account paperwork to Relationship Managers
    • Review documents for accuracy and completeness
    • Facilitate the opening of new accounts and the transfer of assets at the custodian
    • Help coordinate the new account opening process internally by providing accurate and timely information to all involved on the account
  • Work with Portfolio Administration teams on all transition events affecting accounts (account splits; new accounts; fund movement; etc.)
  • Facilitate custodial changes
  • Facilitate fund/asset movement
  • Meet with client and Investment Advisor to facilitate account documents
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned by the Transitions Associate and/or Chief Operating Officer

Job Title:  Relationship Manager - Service

Job Location: San Antonio, Texas

Job Description:

The Relationship Manager (RM) is responsible for ensuring clients receive a high level of touch and an excellent STMM client experience. RMs are responsible for client communication to include face-to-face meetings, emails and phone calls, and ensuring client requests are being fulfilled and followed up on. RMs do not make investment decisions related to the investment of the account, but instead work with the Portfolio Management team to ensure accounts are invested according to asset allocation and risk tolerance. This position reports to the Managing Director and Senior Relationship Manager in San Antonio.

Responsibilities Include:

A successful candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting. Prior experience in investment operations considered a plus, but not required. Knowledge of equity and fixed income securities is required and candidate should have proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook. Familiarity with Bloomberg, Access and prior work experience with a portfolio accounting system, CRM software and custodian bank websites considered a plus. The candidate should be able to react to and resolve unfamiliar issues by leveraging prior skills and knowledge. Must have critical thinking skills, attention to detail and willingness to follow through on tasks to completion. The candidate will need to handle competing priorities while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure. Effective proactive communication to all areas of the firm as well as with 3rd party vendors and associates is of utmost importance in this dynamic role. He/she must uphold excellent attendance, punctuality and professionalism.

Strong leadership qualities with good communication and interpersonal skills. Strong understanding of investment advisory customer and market dynamics. Demonstrated proficiency with all MS Office products. Salary: base salary plus incentive bonus.


Job Title:  Relationship Manager - Service & Sales

Job Location: Dallas, Texas

Job Description:

The Relationship Manager (RM) is responsible for strategic growth for the Dallas office and for ensuring clients receive a high level of touch and an excellent STMM client experience. RMs are responsible for client communication to include face-to-face meetings, emails and phone calls, and ensuring client requests are being fulfilled and followed up on. RMs do not make investment decisions related to the investment of the account, but instead work with the Portfolio Management team to ensure accounts are invested according to asset allocation and risk tolerance. This position is also responsible for developing new business in the Dallas and surrounding markets. An ideal candidate would have a book of business they could bring to STMM and a desire to be a market leader in the Dallas market to ensure STMMs Dallas client-base is growing. This position reports to the Managing Director, Director of Relationship Management in San Antonio.

Responsibilities Include:

1. Client relationship management:

  • Develop and cultivate centers of influence (attorneys, accountants, doctors, etc.)
  • Attend and promote company sponsored events and community activities intended to raise the profile of STMM
  • Record all prospect activities in CRM and provide activity reports to sales manager

Job Title:  Administrative and Relationship Associate

Job Location: Houston, Texas

Job Description:

The Administrative and Relationship Associate is responsible for providing general office support such as welcoming guests, answering telephones, coordinating calendars, distributing mail, recordkeeping, and maintaining office supplies. In addition to general office support, this position is also responsible for providing high level client support to the Relationship Managers in the Houston office. This position reports to the manager of the Houston Office. Non-exempt salaried position.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Serve as receptionist in welcoming all company guests to the firm office
  • Answer and screen all incoming calls, and monitor and distribute incoming communications
  • Assist in various client relationship duties including gift ordering, thank you notes, follow-ups
  • Contact clients and prospects to confirm company appointments
  • Update client and prospect information in Client Record Management system (Satuit) as requested
  • Assist in preparation of client and prospect meetings utilizing FIN (portfolio management system), Satuit and marketing materials
  • Liaise with, and support, internal staff at all levels and in all locations, as needed
  • Follow firm protocol in documenting all Checks/Cash received from clients
  • Order and maintain office supplies and marketing information including: letterhead, brochure material, equipment supplies, groceries, and specialty items as needed

Job Title:  Trader

Job Location: San Antonio, Texas

Job Description:

The Equity Trader plays an integral role and works closely with the Chief Equity Trader and Fixed Income Trader. This role is responsible for executing trades for the firm across multiple custodians and for all accounts under STMMs management. Transactions will consist of equity purchases and sales, including option trading and fixed income trading. This is an exempt position and reports to the Chief Equity Trader.

The general duties for this job consist of:

  • Handle all aspects of trade placement for equity securities including common stocks, mutual funds, exchange traded funds, options and fixed income by utilizing multiple execution platforms while ensuring best execution practices; This includes monitoring and processing trades, i.e.: trade input, trade execution and allocation process post execution
  • Book trades and maintain restrictions as required on trade order management system, Charles River Development (CRD)
  • Mediate and resolve trade related/settlement issues, pre/post trade instructions and communication with broker dealers, custodian banks and Client Operations
  • Provide detailed information regarding trade errors; actions taken to prevent issues from re-occurring and financial impact to the firm
  • Interface with various internal and external parties related to trade execution or securities monitoring
  • Communicate market conditions to Chief Executive Officer/Chief Investment Officer, Director of Equity Research and other members of the investment team
  • Ensure the receipt of accurate soft dollar trade commissions from all participating broker-dealers
  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects
  • Establish and maintain procedures
  • Administrative duties of the Trading Department (scanning, filing, etc.)
