JEANIE WYATT CHOSEN AS ONE OF BARRON’S TOP 100 INDEPENDENT ADVISORS
Wyatt is One of Only Six Texans to Make Top 100 List*
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – September 2, 2010 –
Jeanie Wyatt, CFA, CEO & Chief Investment Officer of South Texas Money Management, Ltd., was selected as one of Barron’s Top 100 Independent Advisors of 2010. Wyatt was one of six women to make the national ranking, and South Texas Money Management was one of only six Texas firms to be included on the list.
According to Jennifer Pedone, Research Manager for Barron’s, the formula Barron's uses to rank advisors is proprietary. The ranking is based on assets under management, revenues the advisors generate for their firms and the quality of their practices. The quality-of-practice component includes an evaluation of each advisor's regulatory record. “We are proud to be included in this list of independent investment advisors,” said Wyatt. “As the Barron’s article explains, registered investment managers are required by law to fill a fiduciary role in which they put the client’s interests first. Unfortunately, in an era of Madoff scandals, the public has a jaded view of that. At South Texas Money Management, we take our fiduciary role very seriously and implement several safeguards for our clients.”
