Barbara Dickson

Barbara Dickson joined South Texas Money Management as a part of the addition of the Dallas office. Prior to joining South Texas Money Management, she co-founded Rutland Dickson Asset Management where she served as the firm’s lead equity manager and strategist. She serves as a Senior Investment Advisor for STMM.

Ms. Dickson began her career in investments at the First National Bank of Palm Beach and joined RepublicBank (later NationsBank) in 1975. While at the bank she was a Quantitative Research Analyst, a member of the Investment Strategy Committee and Portfolio Manager of the Southwest Equity Fund. During this time Ms. Dickson earned a Master’s Degree in Administrative Science with a major in Finance at the University of Texas at Dallas. She graduated with a BA from Newcomb College of Tulane University. She is a member of the Dallas Society of Financial Analysts, the CFA Institute and a member of the Dallas Chapter of the Society of Pension Professionals.

Active in the Dallas charitable community, she currently serves on the Dallas Metropolitan YMCA Foundation Board as Vice Chair and on the Investment Committee as Chairman. She also serves on the Parkland Hospital Investment Advisory Committee. Previously she was a member of the Dallas Opera Trustees and is a current member of the Dallas Museum of Art and the Nasher Sculpture Center.

Ms. Dickson is also an avid outdoors enthusiast and enjoys field trialing bird dogs and shooting sporting clays, reading and travel.
